The strength or durability of a cabinet is determined by the quality of the cabinet doors; therefore, it is essential to choose a cabinet that has a superior quality door. Most cabinet manufacturers use different woods for cabinet doors including solid wood cope and stick raised panel, square and arched mitered, recessed panel and solid wood. As a contractor I am constantly looking for a great deal and a way to save a few dollars. If it means a little more work but a significant monetary savings, then it is a great deal to me. The big box stores have even started carrying their own version, but the best deals are still found on-line. While you won't get the advantage of talking to a personal designer, the monetary savings will be well worth it. By buying your cabinets direct from the manufacturer, the savings can be as high as 30-40%.
